The Vulcanus Program - a chance to participate in an internship in Japan

Participants will complete an industrial internship at a leading Japanese host company for 6 months, after having had the opportunity to experience Japanese culture by following a seminar on Japan and a two-month intensive Japanese language course.

The EU-Japan Center will cover the costs of the Japan seminar and the Japanese language course, while the host company will provide accommodation throughout the stay in Japan. Additionally, selected students will benefit from a scholarship of around €8200, to partially fund the cost of travel to and from Japan, personal insurance, and living expenses. The grant will be divided into several installments.

Eligibility criteria

• be a citizen of a member state of the European Union or of a country associated with the European Common Market.
• be a student of engineering or another scientific field, enrolled in the university as a student between the 4th official year of undergraduate university studies up to the penultimate year of the doctorate.

Duration of the programme

The program will have a total duration of eight months, and will be offered between the 1^st of August 2025 and the 31^st of March 2026.
