Conference: “Can rankings support universities’ quest for excellence?”

Co-organised by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Quality and Language Policy, the Office of the Vice-Rector for Research and the Office of the Vice-Rector for International Policy, the conference "Can rankings support universities' quest for excellence?" took place in the framework of the 2023-2026 UPC Internationalisation Plan.

The conference was aimed at school and department directors, and also at areas managing quality, rankings, research and international affairs, both at the UPC and at other Catalan public universities.

The event featured three speakers: Dr Elizabeth Gadd, from Loughborough University, the chairwoman of the INORMS Research Evaluation Group and the vice-chairwoman of the Coalition on Advancing Research Assessment, CoARA; Dr Francesc Xavier Grau, the chairman of the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU); and Mr Yoran Beldengrün, a consultant on science and innovation policies at SIRIS Academic. The conference ended with a dialogue between the speakers in which the attendees participated.
