Research groups

The Universitat Politècncia de Catalunya currently has more than 150 research groups organised n 30 departments.

They carry out scientifically and technically impactful activities ranging from cutting-edge research to the practical application of new discoveries through inventions.

Multidisciplinarity

UPC research groups address complex challenges in engineering, architecture, science and technology through interdisciplinary projects.

Excellence

The Government of Catalonia recognises some UPC groups as "consolidated groups," highlighting their excellence and contribution to scientific activity.

Impact

The groups have top-level researchers, as well as cutting-edge technical and scientific resources to carry out impactful projects.

Departments

In the departments, university professors and research staff coordinate and organise undergraduate and graduate teaching in one or more knowledge areas, as well as research activities in their field.
