UPCommons among the world’s top 20 open document repositories
The UPC’s open document repository, UPCommons, is ranked the world’s 20th in the latest edition of the Transparent Ranking of repositories. In the ranking of institutional repositories, UPCommons climbs to the 11th place worldwide and is once again the leader in Spain.

In the Transparent Ranking of all repositories, the open document repository of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC), UPCommons, is ranked 20th in the world, which is one place higher than in the Ranking’s last edition (September 2020). The number of records indexed in UPCommons has increased from 74,100 to 84,800. The University is ranked 8th in Europe and 1st in Spain.
Additionally, in the ranking of institutional repositories, UPCommons climbs to the 11th place worldwide, which is two places higher than in the previous edition (September 2020), and 5th in Europe and remains the leader in Spain.
Finally, in the ranking of Spanish repositories and journal portals, UPCommons continues to be ranked 3rd, behind DIALNET and the RACO (Catalan Open Access Journals).
Published by the Cybermetrics Lab—a research group of the Spanish National Research Council that also publishes the Ranking Web of Universities—the Transparent Ranking of repositories is based on the number of records indexed in Google Scholar, excluding citations and patents. The latest edition of the Transparent Ranking has been published using the data obtained during the second week of May.
