In view of the situation created by the war in Ukraine, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) has set up an International Emergency Committee with the aim of monitoring the situation, deciding on the actions to be taken and communicating on all aspects of the crisis  with internal and external actors. The Committee is continuously in contact with coordinating bodies external to the UPC, both of the Catalan government (Interuniversity Council of Catalonia) and of the Spanish government (Ministry of Universities). The Committee’s competencies and areas of action will be updated as the conflict evolves.

At this time we have no evidence that any members of our community are in the conflict zone, but there are several in neighbouring countries. Our community does, however, include a group of people who are Ukrainian nationals.

The UPC is at the disposal of those affected by the conflict

Given the range of situations that may arise, support needs may be very different and may involve mobility, academic procedures, psychological support, etc., so each individual case will be analysed to find the most appropriate solution.

If you know someone affected, please contact us at the address ucrania.upc@upc.edu to explain the situation and we will try to provide the most appropriate support. Through this mailbox we will centralise the response to all situations and will act in a diligent and coordinated manner.
