The UPC is the top Spanish technical university in the new QS World University Rankings: Europe (2024)
In the first edition of the new QS Europe University Rankings, the UPC is ranked 129th among 688 institutions analysed and is the leading technical university in Spain. It obtained its best scores in Sustainability and International Research Network.

The first edition of the QS World University Rankings: Europe (2024) has been published. The rankings evaluate universities across members of the Council of Europe. They analyse twelve indicators in five main areas: Research, Employability and Outcomes, Learning Experience, Global Engagement and Sustainability. The rankings publish the performance of 688 institutions, including 43 Spanish universities.
In this new classification, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC) is ranked 129th in Europe, 8th in Spain and 4th in Catalonia. It is also the top technical university in Spain. According to this, the UPC is ranked among the top 19% of European universities.
Based on the indicators analysed, the University obtained its best scores in Sustainability (82.1 points out of 100) and International Research Network (78.5 points).
