The UPC is among the 300 best universities in the world in Arts & Humanities in the THE WUR ranking
In the same field, the UPC is also ranked among the 165 top universities in Europe and is the top technical university in Spain and the fifth university in Catalonia.

Although the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) does not offer degrees in most of the disciplines included in the field Arts & Humanities of the THE World University Rankings (THE WUR) by subject (Art, Performing Arts & Design; Language, Literatures and Linguistics; History, Philosophy and Theology; Architecture; and Archaeology), the University's importance in the field of architecture, design and history of architecture places it among the 300 best universities in the world in the last edition of this ranking, which was published on 13 September 2017.
In the same subject, the UPC was placed in the 138-162 range in Europe and in the 7-8 range in Spain. It is also the top technical university in Spain and the fifth university in Catalonia.
The THE WUR rankings by subject analyse the institutions in a series of fields (Arts & Humanities; Clinical, Pre-clinical & Health; Engineering & Technology; Life Sciences; Physical Sciences; Social Sciences; Business & Economics; and Computer Sciences) on the basis of 13 indicators that use the overall classification, changing the weighting according to each area.
In the field Arts & Humanities, the UPC had a high score in Citations (56.6), International outlook (53.3) and Industry income (52.7).
