Statement by the rector of the UPC regarding the political conflict in Catalonia
On 26 October, the UPC’s rector, Enric Fossas, made a statement regarding the current political conflict in Catalonia.

STATEMENT
At this time, I would like to express my support for the autonomous government of Catalonia and its institutions. It must be remembered today that universities are among these institutions and that university autonomy is an indisputable fundamental right in democracy.
We have repeatedly stated that the current political conflict in Catalonia should be dealt with through dialogue and political debate between governments and, if necessary, through mediation. We have expressed our clear rejection of violence and we understand that this rejection must be extended to any type of aggression against the fundamental rights of people.
