On 27 April the final results of elected candidates have been published. The elections for renewing the representatives of students, teaching staff and administrative staff to the UPC’s Senate have been conducted by means of the online voting system, from 19 to 22 April, on the website eleccionsclaustre.upc.edu.

On 15 February, the rector, Francesc Torres, approved the call for elections for renewing the members elect to the University Senate of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC). The Senate is a body that represents the university community, it consists of 303 ex officio and elect members, who are elected every four years. The Senate debates the University’s general lines of action, controls the actions of governing, executive and management bodies and promotes the regulatory activity of other governing and representative bodies, among others.
During the electoral process, which began on 16 February, 30,472 UPC community members are called to elect a total of 213 representatives from all the categories to the University Senate. The representatives of tenured professors (PDI-A) will stand for the University, their school and department; the representatives of bachelor’s and master’s degree students (EGM) will stand for their school; and the representatives of other teaching and research staff (PDI-B) and of administrative and service staff (PAS) will stand for the University.
Ex officio members are the rector, the general secretary, the general manager, vice-rectors, deans, school directors, heads of departments, university research institute directors and the directors of the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE) and the Doctoral School.
Voting and final results
On 27 April the final results of elected candidates have been published.
Voting has taken place fom 19 to 22 April, on the website eleccionsclaustre.upc.edu.
The election have ben conducted by means of the online voting system in accordance with the regulation approved by the University Senate on 17 December 2020, using the e-Vot platform (in Catalan), participated by Catalan public universities.
Register, candidates and election campaign
The final announcement of candidates was issued on 26 March and the election campaign was underway from 6 to 16 April. On 11 February, the University published the final electoral register and the resolution establishing the final list of constituencies and polling stations and the distribution of the members elect corresponding to each sector or category. On 19 March, polling station officials were appointed by draw.
