Have you ever used ChatGPT or Siri on your mobile phone? If the answer is yes, then you are using deep tech. And while they may seem very current, these technologies have already been around for a decade.
This is the perspective explored in the new Algorrritmes UPC episode, which features Carles Puente, the co-founder of Fractus and a professor at the Barcelona School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSETB) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC), and Eneko Ibarlucea, a recent graduate from the University’s master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, who now works at Fractus. They explain how these technologies, based on disruptive scientific discoveries, not only make life easier but also promote sustainability and contribute towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set for 2030.
The episode also focuses on the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub project, which supports talent and technology transfer to bridge the gap between research and industry within the deep tech ecosystem.
