Setting up walk-in vaccination sites at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) from 14 September is part of the campaign launched by the Government of Catalonia to encourage university students to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The campaign aims to increase the number of fully vaccinated young people for the 2021-2022 academic year and thus ensure that face-to-face teaching can take place at 70% classroom capacity this year, according to the PROCICAT Sectoral Plan for Universities for the 2021-2022 academic year [in catalan].
The university community will be able to access any of these sites, located at the UPC and the University of Barcelona (UB). See vaccination sites and on the COVID-19 portal.
By launching this initiative, the University aims to make this new academic year as normal as possible while protecting the health and safety of the university community in academic and work activities.
Distributing new masks
This week, the University will start distributing new UPC masks, which have been specially designed for this academic year.
Students can pick theirs up at the libraries by showing their UPC card or the proof of enrolment on their mobile phone. Teaching staff and administrative staff can pick theirs up at the reception also by showing their UPC card.
