Students on master's degrees enrol in a given number of credits; therefore, the amount they have to pay depends largely on the number of credits they enrol in and whether they have to re-enrol for credits that they have not passed, for which there is a surcharge when they enrol for the second, third or fourth time. A full academic year is worth 60 credits. The cost per credit is lower than the real cost, as it is partly subsidised with public funds.

There are several ways to pay the tuition fee
Single payment
You have different ways:
- Pay by credit card in the "Forms and Payments" section of the e-Secretaria, or
- Pay on the website or at an ATM of the financial entity using the barcode on the enrolment form, or
- Pay in cash or by direct debit at the bank (Banco Santander, “la Caixa” and Caixa Enginyers), also with your enrolment form.
Payment by bank deposit, which allows you to payment in instalments
Tuition fees can be paid into any account in the SEPA-IBAN area, provided that the University has the holder's authorization. Therefore, at the time of the first enrolment, you must attach the document “direct debit order” (order SEPA that you can find and fill out at the e-Secretaria), signed by the account holder and the student, in accordance with current regulations.
The direct debit process step by step
- you have to enter the bank account details before you enrol.
- log in to the e-Secretaria, go to the "My details" menu, "Bank accounts", and fill in the form
- click on "Add" and enter bank account details.
- add the details of the account holder.
- if you are the account holder, click on the button "Copy details".
- save the details and print the PDF.
- sign the document by hand or digitally. If you are not the account holder, the document must be signed by you and the account holder.
- scan or photograph the signed document and upload the document.
- when the status of the document is "Operational", this means that the process has been completed.
If you choose direct debit, you can choose between
- Single payment, which will take effect two days after enrolment.
- Payment in instalments, as long as the amount is equal to or greater than €300.
- For semestral enrolment: 60% of the enrolment fees are paid when you enrol and the remaining 40% are paid in mid-December (enrolment in the first semester) or early April (enrolment in the second semester).
- For annual enrolment: 40% of the enrolment fees are paid when you enrol, 30% in mid-December and 30% on 1 March.
NOTICE: if you have not entered the bank details before you enrol and you want to pay by direct debit or in instalments.
- choose the form of payment "Single payment" via collaborating entities.
- complete your enrolment and do not pay the fee.
- contact your school’s secretary to arrange the change.
Grants
As a master's degree student you can apply for Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport (MECD) grants to cover credits enrolled for the first time and if your income and academic performance make you eligible. You can also apply for EQUITAT grants from Catalonian government, if you are a student of a qualifying master's degree.
You are eligible for an MECD grant because you meet the financial and academic requirements. If you are eligible, apply for the grant through the Ministry's online service (spanish).
You are not eligible for an MECD grant because you do not meet the financial and academic requirements. If you are not eligible, you will have to pay enrolment fees. Consult the option for paying in two or three instalments offered by the UPC or the monthly payment of the loan from the Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR).
