Double degrees
Under the UPC's teaching model, students may graduate with two degrees and acquire skills in related disciplines. Double degrees are of several types:
Access must be sought via the Catalan government's University Access Advisory Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Systems Engineering and bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Systems Engineering or bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, simultaneously and in five academic years.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics (interuniversity UB-UPC degree).
- Bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics (double interuniversity UB-UPC degree) simultaneously and in five and a half academic years.
At some UPC schools you can take a specific double-degree pathway at the same school by taking a specific number of additional credits. Generally, this involves an additional year of study. To gain admission to a double degree of this kind you must have taken a minimum number of credits on one of the bachelor's degrees.
- At the Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE) you can take a double degree by combining two bachelor's degrees in the area of industrial engineering.
- At the Terrassa School of Industrial, Aerospace and Audiovisual Engineering (ESEIAAT) you can take a double degree by combining two bachelor's degrees in the area of industrial engineering.
- At the Castelldefels School of Telecommunications and Aerospace Engineering (EETAC) you can take a double degree by combining two of the following bachelor's degrees: bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Systems Engineering + bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Systems Engineering or bachelor's degree in Network Engineering.
- At the Barcelona School of Nautical Studies (FNB)bachelor's degree in Marine Technologies + bachelor's degree in Naval Systems and Technology Engineering.
At some UPC schools you can take a specific double degree with other Catalan universities or, in some cases, university schools, once you have taken a given number of credits:
- School of Mathematics and Statistics (FME) and School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC)
Further information on the double degree in Mathematics and Music - Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB) and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC)
Further information on the academic programme - Terrassa School of Industrial, Aerospace and Audiovisual Engineering (ESEIAAT) Further information on the Programme for High Achievers at the ESEIAAT
- Barcelona School of Agri-Food and Byosistems Engineering (EEABB) and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV).
You can also take a wide range of international double degrees with more than 100 renowned foreign universities. To gain admission to a double degree of this kind you must have taken a minimum number of credits on the bachelor's degree you are taking. On the web page on each bachelor's degree you will find detailed information on these international double degrees.
The CFIS selects its own students to ensure that they can successfully follow the intense curriculum.
Their degrees are designed for highly capable and motivated students. Two official UPC bachelor's degrees may be taken in a maximum of five years. Students graduate with two official degrees and a qualification specific to the University that demonstrates that they have studied at the CFIS.
