Teaching days for final thesis examination committees
(1) Non-working days are:
● Saturdays and holidays.
● Periods of low occupancy of spaces, in accordance with Board of Trustees Decision CS/2023/09/05, of 21 December 2023, of the Social Council, which approves the UPC's 2024 budget.
● For electoral purposes, non-teaching periods are non-working days in accordance with Article 32.3 of the UPC election regulations.
(2) During the non-teaching periods, ordinary classes are no taught, no exams are held and final thesis examination committees are not convened.

Public holidays 2024-2025

In addition to these public holidays, schools may close on local holidays.

Start and end of the academic year

Non-teaching periods

During non-teaching periods, ordinary classes are not taught, no exams are held and final thesis examination committees are not convened.
  • Christmas: from 27 December, 2024 to 3 January, 2025
  • Easter: from 14-17 April 2025
  • Summer: from 1-31 August 2025

Although Saturdays are non-teaching days, classes for specific degrees may be taught on Saturdays.

Ordinary classes
are not taught between 1 and 31 July.

Periods applicable to both bachelor's and master's degrees


Periods for bachelor's and master's degree thesis defences

  • Semestral enrolment
    • Additional enrolment in S2 (after ordinary enrolment in S1): up to 31 May, 2025 (the date of May 31 may be brought forward to 30 April  or extended to 15 July if, for organisational reasons, the school considers it appropriate).
    • Additional enrolment in S1(after ordinary enrolment in S2 the previous year): up to 31 October 2025
  • Annual enrolment
    • Ordinary enrolment in S1 + additional enrolment in S2: up to 31 May 2025 (the date of 31 May may be brought forward to 30 April  or extended until 15 July if, for organisational reasons, the school considers it appropriate)
    • Additional enrolment in S1 (after ordinary enrolment in S2 of the previous year): up to 31 October 2025


Periods for applying for recognition/validation

  • Degrees with semestral enrolment
    • Autumn semester: in June, July and up to 2 September 2024
    • Spring semester: in December 2024 and up to 31 January 2025
  • Degrees with annual enrolment
    • During the months of June, July and until 2 September 2024


Periods for applying for a special dispensation on academic progress (students who did not meet the academic progress requirements)

  • Degrees with semestral enrolment
    • Students who did not meet the minimum academic progress requirements in their first year or the initial stage in the 2024-2025 autumn semester: until 15 February 2025
    • Students who did not meet the minimum academic progress requirements in their first year or the initial stage 2024-2025 spring semester: until 15 July 2025
  • Degree with annual enrolment
    Until 15 July 2025


Periods for applying to withdraw from a degree

  • Degrees with curricular assessment
    • Autumn semester: before the start of the curricular assessment (schools must set a deadline in their calendar)
    • Spring semester: before the start of the curricular assessment (schools must set a deadline in their calendar)
  • Degrees without curricular assessment
    • Autumn semester: before the end of the assessment period (school must set a deadline in their calendar)
    • Spring semester: before the end of the assessment period (school must set a deadline in their calendar)


Periods for adding or dropping subjects

Schools establish the application period for each academic period from the moment of enrolment and until, at the latest:

Degrees with semestral enrolment

  • Autumn semester and yearly enrolment: up to 16 September 2024 (for master's degrees only: 23 September 2024)
  • Spring semester: up to 21 February 2025

Degrees with annual enrolment

  • Up to 16 September 2024 (for master's degrees only: 23 September 2024)

Periods for dropping subjects and withdrawing enrolment

  • Autumn semester: up to 31 October 2024
  • Spring semester: up to 31 March 2025 (in the case of grantholders: up to 21 2025)

    In the event of serious illness or accident of the student or a first-degree relative that makes it impossible to attend classes for over a month, these periods are extended until 15 December 2024 and 15 May 2025 respectively.
